| Peak named in honor of James ("Jim") Dixon, 1927--2018, a locally respected and prolific mountaineer known for his ascents of Mt. Hood including a one-day, human-powered ascent starting from his home in Gresham, Oregon.
This peak on the flanks of Mt. Hood has four potential key cols (3 west, 1 east). If the peak is a subpeak of Zigzag East, its prominence ranges from 360’ to 440'; if not a subpeak, which seems probable, its prominence ranges from 440’ to 520', making it a potential ‘dirty’ P500. Its likely prominence is 450-470'. |
