| This is a large spacious, open public land called Bell Park that is owned By Denver Mountain Parks (DMP). It is clear that the peakbagging destination of this park is the large rocky ridge in the NE corner of the park. Little Cub Creek exits the park in the NW corner at around elevation 7200 so there is around 700 feet of gain to hike from the lowest ground to the high ridge. Note that technically, the highest ground in the park is implied at USGS point 8130 in the NE corner but hiking in the region revealed private property in the area and the corner may not actually be on public lands and even if it does, it would be a geographic point with no prominence thus, logging in the summit of the rocky ridge line makes most sense for the highpoint of the park. Field estimate and GPS suggest highest point is 30 feet above closed contour and saddle at 10 feet below. Meandering subpeaks along ridge. |
