The historic community of Tangerine is divided by US HWY 441. The community rests on the south and east side of a large hill that slopes down to Lake Beauclair and Carlton to the west at elevation 63; Lake Ola to the south at elevation 72; wetland systems Grassy Pond and Cemetery Pond to the east at elevation 70; and the City of Mount Dora to the north with the nearest highest neighbor being the peak of the City of Mount Dora at elevation 180 +.The connecting saddle to the north is breached along South Clayton Street below an elevation of 100 thus, providing this regional subpeak hill a prominence of 70 feet. In Florida, we have only two "peaks" registered with more than 200 feet of prominence, and only about 25 registered so far above 100 feet of prominence.
