The History
"Situated on the summit of Cap Diamant which is the highest point of the city, La Citadelle covers 37 acres. Construction of the outer stone walls began in 1820 to protect the city from the potential threat of American invasion, under the supervision of British Lieutenant-Colonel Elias Walker Durnford of the Royal Engineers. After three decades the buildings within the walls of the fortress were complete. The towering height allowed guards the advantage of 360 degree visibility over potential attackers."

Can hike this historic site with other tourists by starting at the river and climbing up historic granite stepped streets and over 300 stairs and steps to walk around the grounds. The Diamond Cap it rests upon has views across the river, across the Plains of Abraham and to the mountains to the west.

May not be the actual city limit HP, but the historic articles of the site regard it has the natural highpoint of the city that the military recognized to logically protect the City because of its obvious strategic location. Can not find a precise elevation nor read the topo clear enough. Elevation is from internet research but accuracy suspect. Assumed approximate elevation.
