| Pierre Loti Hill is located at the north/west side of the Golden Horn of Instanbul, its numerous lookouts offer incredible southeast views of the Golden Horn and of the old city, very popular with the locals and tourists alike. The south slopes of the Hill is home to a huge old historic cemetery.
A Teleferik, from the shore of the Golden Horn, climbs to a lookout at the top of the cemetery with hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops. Alternately one can ascend the ridge's stone walk, amid the cemetery, from the Eyup Sultan Mosque located at the bottom/south end of the Hill, or drive up from the north side.
The actual High Point of this Hill is about half a kilometer north of the lookout's Teleferik station, amid a dense residential multi-level area. |
