A small yet very steep peak in the south part of Kananaskis, en route to the Highwood pass. Gap Peak is becoming a popular objective since it offers interesting, exposed scrambling on its eastern flanks and excellent summit views. Those who visit the area and are not up to trying Mount Rae or Mount Arethusa, this is a smaller but perhaps technically more challenging substitute. The rock is fairly fragile limestone, mind you.
