North Thunder Mountain is one of the least climbed peaks in the Little Cottonwood drainage due to its distance from a maintained trail. It is most easily reached along the ridge from South Thunder Mountain or by crossing Thunder Bowl from Bells Reservoir. As of June, 1999, there was a mailbox with a summit register on the peak.
