McClain Peak is the pointy summit to the right of the dome of Mount Phelps, as seen from the Seattle/Bellevue area when looking east towards the Cascades.

Note that the USGS topographic map has the names of Phelps and McClain reversed. This is very clear from the historical record and the locations shown on this web site are the correct ones.
