The USGS 7.5' contour map shows incorrect information for this summit. It has been established by local climbers and hikers that the East Peak of Mount Watson is about 40 feet lower than the higher West Peak, which is surveyed at 6220 feet. So the 6240-foot contour for the East Peak is a map error. So the elevation here is reported as 6180 feet for the lower East Peak.
