Doi Suthep is a subpeak of the slightly taller Doi Pui, which overlooks the city of Chiang Mai to the east. The height of Doi Suthep is frequently mis-reported as 1676m, just 9m shorter than it's parent Doi Pui, but the actual height is closer to 1601m.There is a very important temple on the side of mountain that is a popular destination for both tourists and locals.
