List DescriptionFor the purposes of this list, Southwest British Columbia is defined as having these boundaries: From the US border, the boundary goes north via the Similkameen River and Route 5A to Merritt, then NW along Route 8 to Spences Bridge. The line then follows Highway 1 to Lytton, then goes north along Highway 12 to Lillooet before curving north around the Shulaps Range via the Yalakom River. The line then heads generally south towards the headwaters of the Bridge River and then to the Elaho River before cutting across to Jervis Inlet, the western boundary of the area. Also included are peaks on Vancouver Island south of Route 28. This area was selected so that the resulting peak lists would have a good variety of peaks yet not be terribly daunting to complete. Extending the list further northwest into the Coast Range would heavily skew the list towards major expeditions to very remote areas. For the typical skilled and ambitious Vancouver area climber, this list should provide a good set of objectives. Acknowledgments:Thanks for Adam Walker and Steven Song for their input and help with this list.
