List DescriptionRomania is a notably mountainous country, with ranges of the Carpathian Arc taking up the bulk of the interior. Romania's 41 counties plus the Municipality of Bucharest constitute the nation's official administrative divisions. This list is a good sampler of peaks from all three major morpho-tectonic units (Eastern, Southern and Western Carpathians), some famous, others not so much. Also represented are obscure features elsewhere in Romania's landforms, including the Moldovan Plateau, the Dobrogea Hills and the Lower Danube Plain.
