Ascent Trip Report

Big traverse from Government to Jarbidge peak. Took the trail to the lake and it is is good shape. Stashed a mtn bike at the Rex mine so we could do a shuttle and save our knees a bit and not have to retread terrain. Useful winddrifts that had consolidated helped save us from the endless talus maybe a third of the ridgetime, but could have been alot more a couple weeks earlier. Beautiful area, still a ton of snow in the Rubies. The west ridge down from this peak was pretty straightforward and quick until the last 700 ft of talus above the Rex mine road (high clearance 4x4 only.
