|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||11387 ft / 3470 m|
Ascent Trip ReportRushed over from doing Boundary and Montgomery because we got a good weather window. Hennen Canyon is unbelievably beautiful. I spent a lot of time taking photos. The wildflowers were out in force. The trail is good all the way to the boulder field at the base of the saddle. There are a lot of ducks but they don't always indicate the best way. I short-cutted it up to the summit ridge rather than going closer to the saddle. It was fun. Came down more on top of the summit ridge and went closer to the saddle before dropping down. When heading back to the left, note the large flat slab to cross rather than the boulders at the base of the snowfield--much easier traveling. Hundreds, if not thousands, of butterflies on the summit. It's called "peaking." It would be difficult for butterflies to find each other in the vast area they live, but they go to the highest peak around to find a mate.
