Ascent Trip ReportSkinned up to the Taschachhaus on Sunday, February 25, 2018. Monday, Feb 26, I skinned up to 10680 ft (3255 m) on the north/northwest slopes of Wildspitze, but it was too cold to continue upwards. An extreme cold snap hit the area on Sunday/Monday and I got frostnip on a couple of fingers. The powdery snow was so cold that my skis wouldn't glide downhill on it, which made getting down a little more work than expected. |
