Ascent Trip Report

I went as part of a Las Vegas Mountaineers Club (LVMC)outing. Going up to the east ridge was surprisingly easy - we found a wash that actually switchbacked so the slope was pretty easy. Once on the ridge, we found a (bighorn) sheep trail that went across the ridge and to the south slope where there were good class 3 chutes to climb to the summit.

Descending the wash on the west side started out great, but just before reaching the valley, it ended in a steep drop, so we traversed over to the next wash east. That traverse probably would have been fine in normal dry conditions, but the ground was still damp from recent rains making the traverse riskier than some in the group cared for.
