Ascent Trip ReportThis is among the hardest 3000' feet I have ascended, real Type 2 fun. For some reason in the warmth and comfort of my living room I decided I didn't need flotation on this outing. Therefore I brought none and proceeded to flail through hip deep powder for 12 hours. The valley gets very little sun this time of year, so once the snow starts falling in autumn it is there to stay until next summer. Going was slow between the Hairpin and Kangaroo Pass. The ridge was slightly better, being less piled with deep snow, though there was postholing.
