Ascent Trip Report

See access in my Summit Creek Peak TR. From Summit Creek Peak we decended down to the saddle between the two. It wasn't quite white-out conditions because it wasn't snowing, but we were smack in the middle of a cloud, in the howling wind, that was actively raining. It was pretty miserable for my wife and slow going. We made it to the top of Phi Kappa and the weather broke a bit. We still didn't have a stellar view of the beastly mountains to the east, but at least the rain had stopped and the sun was threatening to come out. The hike between Summit Creek Peak and Phi Kappa was straight forward and not difficult.
We simply did a reverse of how one would access Phi Kappa from the Summit Creek Pack Trail only I dropped us off the mountain a little earlier (more west) than the typical hiker might choose. We easily located the pack trail and headed down. It is a beautiful hike and the sun actually came out for an extended period of time so we could get warm and begin drying out.
