Ascent Trip ReportSouth route. Forest path was really steep and I didn't feel confident about getting down. Indeed on the way down I slipped and fortunately caught onto a branch/small tree. I didn't bring crampons, but I eventually put on my snowshoes and the crampons on those helped give me some traction on the wet pine needles and other forest floor material. Tried to drive around to the other route but was stopped by snow. Went home and bought some really cheap steel crampons online and vowed to return. |
