Ascent Trip ReportI used the diving directions from Summitpost to get to the trailhead because I was driving down from the north on Highway 140; this route approaches the trailhead from the west side of the peak via Leonard Creek Road, Jackson Creek Ranch Road, and Trout Creek Road up to the "6038T" high saddle shown on the topo map. From there, I followed the dirt road to the Redbird Mine, where I spent the night. I recommend a high clearance vehicle up Trout Creek Road as well as the road to the mine. The next morning, I generally followed Eric Kassen's 5-25-14 GPS track to the top; the route looks like it requires some rock scrambling, but is only class 1+ with careful route finding.
Afterwards, I drove back down to the saddle, then went east and then south down Trout Creek Road, then took Bottle Creek Road south to Jungo Road, then took Jungo Road east into Winnemucca; these roads from the saddle are all well graded and maintained and are probally passable to most vehicles.
