Ascent Trip Report

MTB highly recommended: makes for a fast descent back to trailhead and the Alsek “road” is more like an ATV trail that will be impassable for most vehicles.

Climbed the SE ridge as per description on Yukon Hiking website. Descended NE aspect via glissade from ~7200’ (before dropping down and climbing back up 7200’ sub peak.

When there’s a snowpack the NE face is a fast, clean and straightforward climb/ski - much less convoluted than the SE ridge scrabble. I would have climbed it had I known, although it is glaciated with crevasse danger in the upper elevations.

Took ~9hrs fast and light with only a few short breaks. Unless you’re really fit and are set to boogie, plan for much longer.
