Ascent Trip ReportBeautiful June day. Climbed in 6:41 round trip which felt like good time for still pretty early season. Almost 0 snow, amazingly good conditions this early hiking season. Bear lake was mostly frozen and looking cool from above. One of the more scenic Sawatch climbs I can remember. Very easy. mostly dirt trail, really only rocks for a few hundred feet of the vertical.
Road is a bit sketchy, but made it up fairly easy. Parking was full and had to park ~1/2 mile down the road. Started at 10:30 am, but beautiful day meant no real worries. A few clouds but nothing too threatening.
Rode the Peaks trail for the first time the following day.
