Ascent Trip Report

Climb 5/6 for the Saranac Ultra 6. At this point, I was exhausted but I knew that after this all I had left to hike was Baker, which is only 1.8 miles. The approach trail was very long and flat. Saw an older couple coming down who seemed surprised that I was going up so late. When I explained what I was trying to do, they wished me luck. This was a very straightforward hike, with almost no scrambling. At the summit, I climbed the fire tower and enjoyed the expansive views from the top of it. I could see that the sun was starting to go down though, so I booked it down the mountain. I had a headlamp but wasn't really looking to do a night hike by myself. It was definitely getting very dusky near the end, but I made it back to the car before it got too dark.
