Ascent Trip Report

Climb 3/6 for the Saranac Ultra 6. This was hands down my least favorite hike of the day. The approach trail was long, boring and very flat. There was a pretty cool bridge crossing with a nice view of the summit, but other than that it was basically just walking down an unpaved sidewalk in the woods. Once the trail started to climb it never got too steep, but it was just steep enough that I could feel it the whole time going up. There was a little bit of wet rock to hike on, but it was nothing too bad. Ther walk to the summit after the climb was also very uneventful. There was one spot where there was a bit of a view, but it was still pretty cloudy. The summit was very unimpressive being totally covered in trees with a bent up trail marker with "Scarface Summit" written on the back. If you're in the area and looking to do a rewarding relatively short hike, don't do this one.
