Ascent Trip Report

After a sweaty Vanderwhacker, headed to Pillsbury. Had to pull way to the side of the season road to let other vehicles past. Then we encountered a flat tire at the trailhead. Oh great. This mountain has it in for me; last year, the sole of my boot came completely off half way up in the cold, pouring rain (finished anyhow). Alan changed the tire and I headed up a little before him. He and his dog, Mavic, soon caught up and of course got far ahead, those speed demons. We both forged on and pushed like mad up the steep rocky trail to make up time so we could home on time. Tower cabin in bad shape. Fencing missing from tower. Materials for repair at the summit (scheduled for this summer). Took my vintage Pillsbury Dough Boy for some fun photos. Views from the tower were a little overcast.
