Ascent Trip Report

A short whack west of the northbound A73 ... 200 meters RT

A surprise visit.
After visiting a few USA/CA Boundary Line Peaks in the Saint Theophile area I stopped-in to visit this COHP on my drive home. I found my way northbound on A73, parking on the right (east) shoulder near the PB coordinates and expecting a very short visit. It wouldn't turn out that way, finding the HP took some doing. I spent well over 90 minutes stomping the area (both sides of northbound and southbound lanes), coming away with the following conclusions, in point form.

1) The PB coordinates are no way near the HP [now fixed].
2) At about 400 meters north of the PB coordinates or 30 meters north of "HWY KM MARKER 118" on the northbound lane there is a obvious huge rock-cut (in a small E-W rocky ridge) on both sides of the highway, and the highest point of land in this whole area. After checking out the rock-cut on both sides I chose THE HP (46.61788,-71.21556) at 30 meters west of the northbound lane (some of the rock-outcrop here does not look natural). The outcrop on the east side is much lower but looks more natural.
If driving southbound this rock-cut is 130 meters north of "HWY KM MARKER 118".
3) Abt 100 meters south of my chosen HP (in between the 2 lanes) is high ground but much lower in elevation.
4) 40 meters west of the southbound lane is a parallel N-S woods road . I found perhaps the highest ground on this side of the southbound lane on this road at 46.61607,-71.21620 (40 meters south of "HWY KM MARKER 118").

CONCLUSION
We should pick the LEVIS COHP as noted in 2) above - the west side of the northbound lane, 30 meters north of "HWY KMMARKER 118" (46.61788,-71.21556). The only/most interesting destination of the area.
