Ascent Trip ReportPart of a world wind tour of Fire Lookouts in the Colville/Spokane Indian Reservations. 9 lookouts in 2 days. This was my first lookout of the trip. I started from Hunters campground north of Fruitland off 25. Hawk Creek and Fort Spokane campground were already full.I drove down to the paved West End Rd (signs for Fruitland bible camp). From the camp I could see the lookout in the distance. I followed the West End road down and around to BIA 52 (past McCoys and West End). The old sign was falling over that stated BIA 52 with a sign for Lookout TMTN LO 6 miles. Follow the main shoot up. At 3 miles is a fork and head left. There are other fork but always follow the best road heading up and north. There were some major ruts in the road around 5 mile mark. At almost 6 miles the is another fork. I parked at this fork and walked up the road to the right. I scared a moose who ran off up the road. But this road dead-ended so I turned around and heading back to my car I could see the lookout. At my car I took the path left which winds up to the lookout in 1/2 a mile and 400 ft.
