Ascent Trip ReportI found previous descriptions extremely confusing on how to drive to the highpoint. I followed Dean Gaudet's GPS track to get there. I won't go into too much detail on how to get there, only to say it is easiest to just follow someone else GPS track. I will stress though, do not follow the paved Scales Road. This is the first scales you come to from the west, opposite the turnoff for the Sly Creek campground. This road dead ends in approx 3mi where several huge boulders and debris covers the road. The road is marked as closed, but not until you have driven approx 1mi down it. Follow tracks/directions for dirt Scales road. There has been what looks like a lot of action along the road recently, there was signs stating there was a sale for a logging lease, and the road appears to be recently graded, so mostly in good shape. Also, it looks like someone has now written the correct mileage on several trees (the old inaccurate numbers have been covered up, and new markings which corresponded accurately with my odometer are spray painted). I drove to base of 21N68Y, then walked from there (but could have easily driven further). Nice walk through the forrest with a few limited views North west at one point. Tramped around the large flat summit area, and took a selfie in front of cement block/pole/wooden teepee to make sure I had achieved the peak.
