Ascent Trip Report

A conditioning hike to get a little elevation in. It was 87 degrees F in Henderson when I left my home, but 52 degrees at the trailhead and actually had light snow flurries during the hike. The weather was really very pleasant, however.

I hit both so-called summits, with my own little GPS experiment showing the northwest summit (i.e. the one listed on this site as "Fletcher Highpoint (Prov)" was about two feet higher than the one indicated on the topo maps. This is the one with the register and the great view of Charleston Peak and Griffith Peak. The other one featured a tree and no view. Descent stats included the trip to the other (false) summit candidate and back.

I saw no one else on Fletcher Peak, but plenty of people hiking on the popular North Loop Trail on the way up.
