|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
|Peak:||Salton Sea State Recreation Area High Point|
| Elevation:||17 ft / 5 m|
Ascent Trip ReportWe looked for a road that would lead to the airstrip which is near the HP. I consulted numerous maps to arrive at this point as the highpoint. We parked on highway 111 perpendicular to the HP. We crossed two sets of railroad tracks and then proceeded up the gradual rise. We were aiming for a house we could see above. When we got up to the area of the house, the fence line ran in a northerly direction. It took us right to the highpoint. A woman at the house came out to see what we were up to. She was very nice and told us she almost called the border guard on us. All in all, it was a good outing but nothing to tell your grand kids about.
