Ascent Trip Report

We parked about a quarter mile below the gate on the access road and followed the road up circling to an area southeast of the caldera with a bit of scrub oak bushwhack and a climb up the east ridge of the caldera. After lunch Gary and I hiked down to the low spot in the caldera and the high spot on the opposite ridge. We took a more direct route back, following the GPS track from my previous visit. But all but one of the group got separated from me and Katherine. Two arrived down about 15 minutes after us, but the other five had some misadventures route finding and arrived more than an hour later.

Magnificent 360 degree views on top!
