Ascent Trip Report

Unlike many NC High County High Points, Rockingham County has dozens of high points that could (and probably do) constitute the "high point" of the County. For an impressive and extensive list start with the Rockingham HP post page on the PB website and follow the zones in various parts of the County. After reviewing all of these narratives, I decided on the Victory Hill Church Road HP, which lies 20 yards to the south of the that road in a field.

From Madison NC, take NC 704 north past Delta, NC. Turn right on NC 770 and travel east. Turn left on Goinstown Road and proceed north turning right on Victory Hill Church Road (gravel). After .25 miles, pull off the road and the HP is located in a field to the south. As with the Forsyth HP, I walked around various points until I reached the HP just east of Tom Layton's description on his post. Not much here to crow about.
