Ascent Trip ReportFollowed Dennis Poulin's drive directions. There is a correction needed for his description... the left turn at 41.3 mi that Dennis writes about is actually at 43.1 mi. The subsequent right turn is then at 47.6 mi., followed by a left turn at 47.7 mi. We parked at 49.3 mi., about the same spot where Dennis parked. The final 5 miles of dirt road had extensive water damage and 4WD and high clearance is needed. Prior to this section, the dirt road was in great shape and driveable by passenger car.
This was one of the easier Nevada climbs I've done. The soil and sand was solid enough for an easy ascent and descent. And there was little brush to deal with. The climb was easy enough it didn't seem necessary to drive as far up the road as we did.
