Ascent Trip ReportTrail totally clear of snow and ice. Mild wind at the top of Baldy. Water at the Snow Hut and a couple crossings in the bowl.
Ascended Snow Hut trail from Manker Flats. Side trips to scramble two rock gendarmes and detour to summit peaceful West Baldy before summiting Old Baldy. On the way down Devil's Backbone veered left to summit Mt. Harwood. Found a nice patch of snow on the north side of Harwood for 3 of us to practice glissading and self-arrest for an upcoming Shasta attempt. Thanks to Mike for sharing his skills with Dan and me.
Very nice day with Dianne, Sherry, Peg, LiMore, Mike, and Dan.
