Ascent Trip ReportThis route was busy today! Nick and I left the PCT trailhead at 10.45am and reached the top by 1pm. At least eleven other hikers and a dog made it to the top of Morena Butte. There was a rain storm passing by two days ago. We found water sipping out of dirt and rocks, and many pools right on top of the butte. Some pools as deep as a feet and it was exciting to stand in between these large and small holes filled with water. The view was the best when we approached the North end. The whole trail was pretty well ducked.
On our return, there were 4 mountain bikes racing up the PCT at around 1mi from the trailhead. These bikes were numbered and labeled with Sagebrush Safari, which I think was a bicycle race. I wished I have stopped them.
