Ascent Trip ReportParked at the plowed pullout on Hwy 85 at the top of O'Neil Pass. Was a very short snowshoe hike, with a few fences to cross over. Our route kind of paralleled snowmobile trail 4 which comes up out of Trailshead Lodge, so there was a bit of traffic up there on a Friday. From the car, you have to cross a fence just North of the road, then we followed random snowmobile tracks towards Laird Peak. Very short hike, maybe a half mile or so. There was a gate open for the snowmobile trail, so we took that to avoid having to climb over another fence. There is a Forest Service marker post at the top. We managed to spend an hour and a half in the area, eating lunch and trying to get some views through the trees. A lot of trees on top, so hard to see much.
