Ascent Trip Report

Beginning of trail before steep section had mostly packed snow. A few exposed watery, stony sections. Steep section had a lot of ice, making for a slower, cautious ascent and descent. Crampons highly recommended. I was extremely happy that I bought them knowing the terrain of this mountain from a summer hike. Parking lot was like an ice skating rink. Two others on the trail with big wooden snowshoes and no microspikes or crampons and amazingly, they were almost to the tower. One left his snowshoes part way up the steep section and had only light boots on.
