|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|

Ascent Trip ReportDPS trip led by Tina Bowman and Jim Fleming. Very cold and windy. At one point had two pairs of gloves on, two hats, and a buff so my skin was completely covered. Group of 5 hiked at moderate pace, 8.5hrs including breaks and a nice lunch on top. Nice views including Telescope Peak with snow on it, Panamint Dunes. Peter and I camped at the TH in our truck/camper. The others came up in the morning from the meeting place in Tina's truck. After the hike, we all met at the camp spot and had dinner. Then Peter and I began the long drive to Cottonwood Canyon for Canyon Point the next day. We had to air-up our tires when we got to pavement and then air-down again when we got to dirt going to the Cottonwood turnoff. That process takes a total of about an hour. Glad we did it that night rather than trying to do it all in the morning.
