Ascent Trip ReportParked at the tower and was pleasantly surprised to find the gate unlocked and wide open, but it looks like a dangerous climb up the 8 stories of rotten wood steps to the top. We crossed the street and checked out the 1850's Hazard Family cemetery, then hopped the wall and tagged a rock that was slightly higher just on the far side of the cemetery wall. Any farther than that and you're wandering through the scrub Pine into someone's front yard. Not really worth it if you ask me, so I got the highest point that I could see and checked this one off the list. |
