Ascent Trip Report

Hiked Mt. Pierce today with Ryan B. And Melissa Obrien. Temps were around 38F at the base and 20F as we ascended. Winds were at 35mph at the top, not crazy but it could throw you off balance for sure. Crawford Trail was hard packed snow with a few post holes and some spots of ice, but pretty darn amazing. Incline was steep at times and Carter the dog saved Melissa from having to turn back and helped pull her up. Darn heel pain. We did manage to hike to the mizpah hut, but it was closed for the winter. That trail wasn't nearly as nice but we gave sledding a go and ended up breaking one of the sleds. Jogged and walked down in no time at all. The lunch break outside the hut was a great idea and made the decent seem faster. Great winter hike! Micro spikes and sleds used. Avg 2
