Ascent Trip Report

I followed the driving directions as provided by Dennis Poulin (2011-02-25) as augmented by Gustav Sexauer (2017-08-04). However, I was confused by one unexpected junction so I have added my driving notes here:

0.0 From Old US 80, turn west onto paved Agua Caliente Road at virtual MP 25.2.
0.7 Turn Right onto a gravel road.
0.9 Turn Left onto a more primitive road.
1.0 Continue Straight.
1.1 Continue Straight.
1.2 Continue Straight at a Y (both roads soon rejoin).
1.5 Bear Right at a Y.
1.7 Pass over a gas line (continue straight).
2.0 Pass under a power line (continue straight).
2.8 Continue Straight (Poison Well is on left).
3.1 Continue Straight (tanks on left).
5.7 Continue Straight (left turn leads to a wash), camping on right.
6.7 Turn Left (right turn crosses a wash with a steep exit).
6.8 Pass a windmill and tank.
7.3 Continue Straight.
7.5 Climb a short and very rough spot on the road.
7.9 Arrive at a gate with a road leading left (south) towards Woolsey Peak.

You may park near the gate or drive further south towards Woolsey Peak. There are a few turnouts along this road with two having room for a couple of cars.
