Ascent Trip ReportWe were doing the Blackhead Range. Started out around 9:00 am from Barnum Road parking area. Plenty of snow on the ground. Snowshoes would have been the best as there were only a few tracks and we fell through numerous times past the knees. Crampons were appropriate in the one section as it was icy. Due to the one steep icy section we didn't want to get caught above there after dark so we had a turn around time of 1:00 PM. I made it to the start of the climb up Black Dome when that turn around time hit. Could have easily made it up Black Dome and back to the parking with daylight but didn't know that until we got down. Slightly windy cool day. Started snowing as we finished the hike.
