Ascent Trip Report This was a solo hike of a LP peak and 2 Peakbagger peaks. First was Eagle. I followed the driving directions in the LP Peak Guide. The dirt road portion is in excellent shape. Any vehicle can drive on it. When I was here 2 years ago, there were about 50-60 cars parked along the road and it was a mess. San Diego Forest Service has created a parking area at the trail head. It can hold 75-100 cars. You can’t park on the road anymore. The hike was pretty straight forward. Just follow the road west, which becomes a trail. Follow the trail up to the ridge, then across the ridge to the summit. There was a register and BM on the summit. Returned the same way. Next was Morettis. I drove back to the junction of 79 and 76, turned left on 76 and park at a turn out a couple of 100 feet down the road. From the parking spot went southeast a short distance to the summit. On the top was a post, a BM and two directional BM’s. Returned the same way. Last was Seek. Parked where the PCT crosses the road at the fire station. Went through the gate and went about 1 ¼ miles east then turned south and crossed country to the summit. On the summit, I found a register and a BM, with two directional BM’s. Only 3 people had signed the register before me. The last was in 2015. 8:30 am Depart. 9:45 am Eagle Peak Summit 11:30 am Car. 5 miles round trip, 1100’ gain, 3 hours. 12:30 pm Depart 12:40 pm Morettis BM Summit 12:50 pm Car. 0.35 miles round trip, 100’ gain, 20 minutes 1:20 pm Depart 2:10 pm Seek BM Summit 3:00 pm Car 3 miles round trip, 400’ gain, 1 hour, 40 minutes Total for the day: 8.35 miles round trip, 1600’ gain, 5 hours
