Ascent Trip Report

Didn't make any summits this day. As I drove in there was a thick cloud cover hanging over the southern end of the Sangres - it was supposed to be a clear day and it was anywhere besides the mountains. But the real killer was the wind. I came in from Willow Lake and the entire approach the wind sounded like a 747. Once I hit the lake it really picked up. Buckets of water were actually being whipped back up the waterfall by the wind to the point where in felt like it was raining. Ultimately, it was a combination of the fierce wind and questionable dark clouds that drove me back. If I had only been faced with one or the other, I likely would've pushed on. It never appeared that any bad weather materialized, but in the end I was happy with my decision.
