Ascent Trip ReportUpon further review, this spot is the actual HP of the Marshall Gold Discovery SHP. I was here a few years ago and didn't know about the land across the street (highway 49). That land is also state owned and belongs to this state park. I drove up Murphy Mountain Road (dirt) to where a driveway would take me to the top and then subsequently, I could go back on state land and achieve the HP. However, there was a gate and signs of video surveillance, so I drove back down the road to about where the state boundary fence is. I hopped the fence and walked at the military crest (on state land), angling upward toward the SW part of the mountain. I came up well passed the home on top and tagged each high spot. Where the grass is mowed down, is not necessarily the boundary between the home's property and the state park boundary. I am satisfied that I hit the HP.
As I got to my car a sheriff drove by and just waved at me.
