Ascent Trip ReportThere is no better way to explore an area than by walking so we took to the streets of Staten Island in quest of the highpoint of New York City. We parked along Seaview Avenue near the Dongan Hills subway stop and headed west until we came to Benedict Road. Taking Benjamin Schak's advice, we avoided walking along busy Todt Hill Road and followed Benedict and several residential streets until reaching the corner of Whitwell Place and Todt Hill Road. From that point it was a short walk to the communications tower and then a quick bushwhack through the woods to the actual highpoint. Return was via the same route.
