Ascent of Peak 2560 on 2017-12-27
|Date:||Wednesday, December 27, 2017|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||2560 ft / 780 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThis peak is near the junction of Del Puerto and Hwy 130, and is surrounded by Ecological Preserve land owned by the State. The summit itself is on private property, but by making a bit of a looping hike, I was able to stay on State land until I was on the ridge, less than half a mile from the summit.
I started at the Ecological Preserve gate and took a very old ranch road all the way to just below the summit. There were a couple of fence crossings. The summit is about 20 vertical feet above the old ranch road, and it is a bit of a nasty bushwhack to the actual summit. There were a few rocks on the very top, but surrounded by brush. I wound up crawling to the summit, escaping with a few scrapes.
