Ascent Trip Report

This little hill is a trivial ascent and is now quite easy. I saw no negative signage or private property issues right near the HP, but apparently a sign on the way in says "private road" but has no gate and it not actively enforced. The hill is located in a remote neighborhood of huge multi-million dollar manisons, so it might be prudent to not stand out too much.

If you park near the corner of Grand Ridge Drive and 270th Place SE, you can walk up 270th a short way to a nice-looking gated driveway, just before a mansion. This gate is not signed, and the driveway leads up to a water tower. There should nto be any issue with walking up there. The fenced water tower compound is practically on the summit, but the builders very nicely left higher natural ground nearby. To my eye, a rise at the back end (north side) of the tower is the HP. There are some limited views down the steep slope towards I-90 through the trees.

I followed Ken Jones's route from I-90 at the High Point interchange, but I do not recommend that way unless you really want a workout and don't mind some very annoying bushwhacking. That hassle is not worth it for this insignificant peak. Given the lack of negative signage in the immediate area and a paved driveway right to the top, doing the peak the easy way is all it is really worth. There is some good hiking on the nearby Grand Ridge Trail, but it is a very popular mountain bike route and therefore not the most pleasant destination for walkers.
