Ascent Trip Report

This was another epic journey starting from the house at 3:15 AM and driving to Nephi UT with both dogs. I made it to the TH around 9:00 AM and started hiking at 9:15 AM. The hike starts off fairly steep and follows a fence on the left. In my opinion there are very few switchbacks on this trail and most of the hike goes straight up ridges. Also there were some pine trees along the early part of the trail, but most of them were dead. I got to a small saddle where I could see the west side of the mountain range and the town of Mona for the first view west.

The trail then follows the west side of North Peak for about a mile and loses ~600 feet before dropping into Wolf Pass. After gaining the summit of Wolf Peak it is still a fairly challenging hike along narrow ridges lines and steep rocky ledges to Mt Nebo. I spent some time at the summit hunkering behind a small rock pile until a small sleet shower passed.

I made it back to the TH at 3:00 PM.
