Ascent Trip Report

After scouting the Atsugi AMC terminal for a future Dpace A flight, Sarah, Christina, and I headed into the mountains to bag another peak before heading back to Yokosuka. The trailhead has a very nice parking area and the trail was well defined, as with all the trails we have hiked in this area. Sarah was a beast and knocked out well over 1K feet of elevation gain under her own power, the remainder, being carried along with Christina. We passed to Japanese on the way up and no one on the way down. I had considered bagging the other two peaks via the ridge walk, but having to carry and/or go it slowly with Sarah walking, proved to be too much, and a fight against the clock to get back and a spiraling downward attention span for the girls.

We lounged in the top for about 20 minutes, snacking and drinking at the picnic tables, and soaking up the views.
